What is confirmed
Switch is coming. Studio and press used “shortly after” and “soon after” language around the August 20 window. That is not a Tuesday. Do not trust a random blog that prints a calendar day. Nintendo also blocked uploading a Switch demo before the full game is ready. The promised Switch demo arrives with or after the full build, not months early. Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation demos already exist: demo.

Saves do not cross from Steam to a future eShop account. If you play the PC 1.0 now, you are not pre-loading Switch ranks.
What to play while you wait
If you own a Deck, the loop is already Verified: move, vacuum gems, accept two rescues. After 1.0.0b, raise Max FPS in Display. After 1.0.0c, PC gained speed keys that disable leaderboards below 100 percent — console Switch players will use accessibility sliders instead of a keyboard bind that is not on the overlay.
