Yet Another Zombie Survivors How to Survive Endurance Mode
The long exam after dawn. Elite Bosses, not a Default timer with extra minutes.
Endurance is the harder long run that replaced old Endless in update 0.9. You still start like Default, but after about twenty minutes there is no dawn that clears the leftover trash and hands you a badge. Elite Bosses start stacking every five to ten minutes. They are tougher, wind up faster as the horde level climbs (1.0 Endurance change), and ignore some of the crowd-control that melted walkers. This page is how to live past minute thirty so Infinite unlocks per arena. The menu of modes is game modes. Geography is maps. If you cannot Default Isolated City, stop here and finish Survive until dawn.
Steam threads that say “stand in a corner for an hour” are usually Infinite talk. Endurance still one-shots greedy kits after minute thirty-five. The workhorse is SWAT lead, Engineer, then Tank or Huntress. Swap Tank for Medic only when you already clear Hardcore and the fail is chip damage, not a missing rifle. Ghost is for boss bars, not for teaching kite. Ranger as an unranked lead is a bad Endurance idea; rescue her.
Minutes 0–20
Play it like a careful Default. Finish a weapon line. Shield online. Do not spend the early board on a turret museum. Role Player on Training so evolutions arrive before Elite Bosses. Magnets are panic buttons, not minute-three fireworks: items. Glass Cannon in this window is bait unless Engineer is already in the squad and Isolated City is a joke for you.
After minute 20: Elite Bosses
They are not extra elites from old Boss Rush. They are the 0.9 horror that 1.0 kept and then scaled: wind-ups and attack speeds climb with horde level. Kite the telegraph. Do not park Tesla on their spawn. Elite Bosses is the dedicated hunt page. Huntress decoy still steals axe attention. Engineer shield still buys the wind-up. Single-target (rifle, Ghost protocol, evolved rockets) matters more than a fourth coil.
Cooldown Training helps shield uptime. Zero cooldown still hitchs. 1.0.0b uncapped gameplay UI FPS; 1.0.0c added speed keys that disable leaderboards below 100 percent. If you are farming a score, leave speed at 100 and put the permanent slider under Accessibility — game speed and accessibility.
The 30-minute contract
Infinite unlocks per arena when you reach 30 minutes of Endurance on that map, not when you beat Hardcore. Version 1.0 wrote the rule. Hotfix 1.0.0c only fixed the lying tooltip. Full steps: how to unlock Infinite. After 1.0.0c, XP gems keep combining instead of freezing in a pile, which helps the Survival Level farm if you are also chasing Ranger at 175.
Bio Lab Endurance is a later exam. The ring is an extra enemy. Clear city Endurance first. Bio Lab before you farm the circle.
What to skip
Do not learn Endurance on One Hit. Do not bring five joke dolls. Do not treat this as Boss Rush — that is a minute-ten finale, not a 40-minute clock. Camp missions that assign Endurance before you own the badge can wait in the Mission Log. Team Bond still fills from finishes you actually survive.
The video on this page is a long-run clip, not a promise that Glass Cannon is the plan. Shield first. Rifle finished. Walk. Then argue with Elite Bosses.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is Endurance the same as Infinite?
No. Endurance is the hard long run with Elite Bosses after minute 20. Infinite is the no-item-cap sandbox that unlocks at 30 minutes of Endurance per arena.
What squad survives past 30 minutes?
SWAT, Engineer, and Tank or Huntress. Add Medic only if chip damage is the fail, not a missing gun.
When do Elite Bosses start?
After about twenty minutes, then more every five to ten minutes. Their wind-ups scale with horde level in 1.0.
Does Hardcore unlock Infinite?
No. Reach 30 minutes in Endurance on that arena. 1.0.0c only fixed the tooltip that still said otherwise.
