Medic in Yet Another Zombie Survivors
Two hundred kits. Heals. A gun you gave up. Use her on purpose.
Medic is the heal specialist in Yet Another Zombie Survivors and the slowest early unlock for accounts that already play well. She unlocks at two hundred health kits. Kits are red hearts on the floor. They do not count at full HP. They do not count if you take a healing power-up instead. That is why SWAT mains finish Ghost first: good squads stay healthy. This page is her kit, ranks, farm irony, and when she actually belongs in a 1.0 trio after the 20 August 2026 launch. Board order lives on best builds. Letters live on the survivor tier list. Counters live on how to unlock survivors. This is the search for a Medic guide.
Rank 2 at 5,000 leader kills. Rank 3 after 20,000 more. Rank 5 in 1.0 adds synergy nodes that feed heals, revive windows, and kit pickup value. Rank her if a Camp quest wants a Medic lead. Do not rank her instead of SWAT while Isolated City Hardcore is still a corpse screen.
Heal first, gun second
If she leads, finish a real weapon line only after a heal node exists. If she is a rescue, feed SWAT’s rifle or Tank’s rockets before you stack a third heal. Ph.D.-style team sustain and Transplantology-style lifesteal are why long Endurance clips keep her. 1.0 weapon range still applies: a short gun on a healer is how you die hugging the horde. See weapon tiers.
If the board offers a gun on SWAT and a heal on Medic, take the gun on Default and Hardcore. Take the heal after minute twenty when chip damage is the fail, not a missing rifle. Auto Selection is for farm nights after Isolated City is a badge, not for your first Hardcore.
Squads
Teaching wheel: Medic lead, Engineer, Huntress. Workhorse after Hardcore is boring: SWAT lead, Engineer, Medic instead of Tank when the fail is chip. HUB quest: take her lead on purpose and get hit. Ranger already heals allies; doubling heal slots is a quest, not a dawn. Recipes: best squads and the squad planner.
Do not refuse her ping on a kit farm. Do refuse her ping on night-one Isolated City if you still need a third gun.
Modes
Default: she costs a gun. Survive until dawn assumes SWAT. Hardcore: she is usually wrong — How to beat Hardcore. Endurance after twenty minutes: she is the answer when Elite Bosses chip you out instead of one-shotting a missing shield. Boss Rush wants burst at minute ten, not a revive window you never use. Bio Lab still wants orbit plus a shield; she does not replace Engineer. Infinite is where five heal toys become a screensaver. That is not a Default plan. One Hit cannot farm kits: you die to the first slap.
Isolated City Default is still the kit farm. Take a hit on purpose when a heart is on the floor. Then pick it up. Then stop feeling clever.
Training, Camp, items
Role Player, movement, then heal nodes if you actually lead her. Refund vanity. Training. Camp missions that force a Medic lead are the honest use case; retry from the Mission Log. Team Bond still fills from finishes you survive. Mushroom Mushroom and Last Unicorn (tagged healing after 1.0.0c) like this kit: items and the item tier list. Glass of Milk is not a healing item since 1.0.
If Medic feels useless, you put her in a ten-minute Hardcore and expected a rifle. She is a long-run tool and a quest actor. Get hit, pick up two hundred hearts, rescue her, then park her until Endurance or the Camp asks. That is her page, not a fourth DPS article.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I unlock Medic?
Pick up two hundred health kits while missing HP. Isolated City Default. Get hit, then take the heart.
Should Medic lead Hardcore?
Almost never. She costs a gun. Lead SWAT. Use her when chip damage is the Endurance fail.
Why is the unlock so slow?
Kits ignore full HP. Strong squads stay full. Farm messy on purpose.
Does Ranger replace Medic heals?
Ranger heals allies as part of her aura. That is not a reason to skip Medic quests or a 40-minute Endurance.
