Yet Another Zombie Survivors How to Survive Green Hell

Swamp puddles, tracking shots, and the dawn that opens Dead Terminal.

Green Hell Walkthrough

Green Hell is the third map in Yet Another Zombie Survivors. It arrived in the 0.6 “Green Hell” update and it is still the swamp exam after version 1.0 launched on 20 August 2026. The current patch is 1.0.0c2 from 28 August 2026. The in-game blurb is a warning dressed as a postcard: some say nature is neither good nor bad, but natural; camping here might change their minds. You steer a single-player squad of up to three survivors through forest, sludge, and tracking shots. Nobody else is coming. There is no co-op. There are no redeem codes. Default dawn here lasts about twenty minutes. Win that clock and this map starts unlocking Endurance, later Hardcore, Boss Rush, and One Hit for the swamp only. Win it and the next map, Dead Terminal, also opens. Lose it and Bio Lab, Ranger at Survival Level 175, and prestige are noise.

Unlock the trees by winning Default on Vile Wasteland. If the Worm still eats you, stay in the sand. The chain is Isolated City → Vile Wasteland → Green Hell → Dead Terminal → Bio Lab. Geography lives on the maps walkthrough. This page is the swamp itself: corrosive puddles, the Wendigo line, the Werewolf leap, screamers, fire kits, the Extermination era, and when you are actually allowed to leave for the trains.

Puddles are Boomer gas on the floor

Green Hell’s unique floor is the corrosive puddle. It ticks like Boomer gas. Walking through it to “cut the pack” is how a healthy blob becomes a Medic exam. Enemy puddles do not count for the joke. Too Much Water is the achievement for standing in a player-relevant puddle for 7.8 seconds. That is a screenshot, not a dawn plan. Strafe around the sludge. Do not reverse through a puddle for a chest. Do not plant a turret in the middle of one and call it area denial.

Vision is worse than Isolated City. Vegetation clumps packs. That is good for fire and rockets. That is bad if you stand still to admire the clump. Huntress Arrow Rain wants a pause. The swamp will finish you during that pause. Keep an exit lane. When three sides close, cut the thinnest edge or burn a movement power-up. Magnets still yank every gem; save them for a death donut you refuse to walk into.

Wendigo, Werewolf, screamers, bad dog

Trash still fills the screen. The forest adds tracking and leaps. Wendigo (community notes also say Vendigo) throws projectiles that track the blob. Strafe, do not reverse. Standing still to “let the gun finish the bar” is how a tracker clips the back survivor. Treat the shot like a desert spit cone with homework.

Werewolf is the leaping mini-boss. It jumps to the player. The leap is the exam, not the melee after. Keep moving when the wind-up starts. A parked turret museum is a landing pad. Engineer shield buys a mistake. Speed Training buys fewer mistakes.

Screamers work banshee-style: a straight scream line. Sidestep the line. Do not eat it to “keep the circle pretty.” 0.6 patch notes also shipped a “very, very bad dog.” Hover the silhouette. If it charges a lane, treat it like a Charger with extra attitude. The full table lives on Enemies. Desert Worms stay in the sand. Trains stay in Dead Terminal. Learn the forest names here.

The swamp finale is the Wendigo line. The achievement is Wendi Go Away. You fight that finale as the map’s main boss and again in 1.0 Boss Rush at minute ten. This wiki will not invent a second unique name the Zombiepedia did not print. Burst guns. Do not stand in a puddle during the bar. Read main bosses when the health pool looks personal.

Fire likes vegetation

Packs clump in the trees. Pyro fire and Tank rockets delete clumps. That is why this map feels honest for those two. SWAT rifle still scales. Engineer shield still covers a leap you misread. The workhorse is still SWAT lead, Engineer, Tank. Swap Tank for Pyro after you already dawn the swamp, not before. Huntress can replace Tank after fifteen minutes if Eagle Eye is online — keep walking. Medic lead is a Camp clipboard. Ranger is a 1.0 rescue at Survival Level 175, not an unranked swamp lead.

Finish the leader gun before you collect four mediocre gadgets. Role Player so evolutions arrive before the trees close. Gotta Go Fast so puddles are optional. Training points are refundable. Nintendo Switch is planned after launch and is not out; play the swamp on the platforms that actually shipped 1.0.

Extermination came with this map

Update 0.6 did not only paint trees. It added Extermination: twenty waves, loot between them, elites with better stats. For a while it replaced the old Boss Rush. 1.0 rebuilt Boss Rush into a race to minute ten then the area finale. Extermination stayed as its own exam. If a clipboard in The Camp asks for swamp waves, read game modes and How to beat Extermination before you accept. Turret museums lose when the next wave spawns on your feet. Fire and rockets still work. Do not stand still for Huntress to “finish the screen.”

Modes and badges

Default dawn is Cruel, Cruel Moon. That badge opens Dead Terminal and this map’s other modes. Isolated City Hardcore does not gift Green Hell Hardcore. Hover the icon.

Endurance here is the same movement with no mercy clock. Ten minutes is The Trees That Whisper. Twenty minutes is Song Of Sorrow And Grieving. Infinite unlocks at thirty minutes of Endurance per arena after hotfix 1.0.0c — The Moonlight Shadow is that gate. It is not a Hardcore gift. Hardcore is ten mean minutes and I Graduated Green Berets. Evolve the rifle immediately. Keep moving. Use How to beat Hardcore when desert clears feel automatic.

Blood Makes The Grass Grow is Extermination. One Hit is about five minutes. Boss Rush 1.0 is the minute-ten Wendigo finale, not old elite spam. Camp missions and Team Bond (the 1.0.0c name for Friendship, shared Cash and Specialization, cap 250) are optional. You do not need a story briefing to leave a puddle.

When to leave for Dead Terminal

Leave when Green Hell Default is a badge you can repeat without thinking. Winning Default here is the key that opens Dead Terminal. The station adds trains, pins, and elites. If puddles and tracking shots still kill you, the tracks will finish you. Stay in the trees to learn clump deletes. Bio Lab is a terrible next farm because the ring adds a fail condition that is not the horde.

If Green Hell still kills you, it is almost never missing Ranger. It is a missing orbit around sludge. Put SWAT in slot one, accept two rescues, walk around the puddle, and take the swamp to dawn again.
